My name is Kelly and this year wasmy first Mercian and for the time we werwe there i really enjoyed it, we ended up having 2 leaky tents (we put one up friday it leaked! and the second on saturday afternoon!)so we had to leave early!! we will be there next year though with Bells and hopefully a dry tent!

Hi there :)

I recommend as higher index on waterproofing on your double skinned tent as possible...and I hope you never get a leaky tent again..tis horrid. I've been there.

Yes, a double skinned tent is the very least requirement. I did notice that a few people had tents that were really play tents, the kind you get from Tesco for £15 that are really for the kids playing in the garden, and not rainproof. I was up there for a fortnight and my tent reained dry the whole time - though I got soaked over and over again everytime I left it, and ran out of dry clothes before the end!
