CREATING SACRED SPACE
The presence of negative ions:
• Uninhabited country, away from industrialised areas
• Near running water [fast flowing river, waterfall etc]
• Natural habitats
• Clear sunshine
• After storms
• In the mountains
• Places and times of increased geomagnetic activity

The worst are:
• Enclosed spaces with crowds of people
• Near electrical appliances which give off a positive charge
• In cities
• Near industrial sources
• In smog, dust or haze

RAISING THE POWER
Power up by slowing brain waves to alpha state.
Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth- make the in breath the same length as the out breath.
Focus your attention on your breath.
Still the mind- allow thoughts to drift by
Drum or chant suck as Om or Awen
Keep up for 20 minutes or more

PEAK INTENSITY
Attend with peak intensity, moment by moment.
Practice mindfulness- aware of what is happening in the present without thought or judgement. Silence the inner chatter. This will heighten your perceptions.
When alpha state is achieved observe whatever manifests in your mind or body without judgement or emotion. Feel your body posture.
This is not concentration. Attend to each moment without judgement.
• Be aware of all the colours, textures, smells around you.
• Be mindful of what is happening internally and externally, without judgement. When you realise you are thinking, gently stop and return to mindfulness.
• Listen to all the sounds around. Accept them without judgement.
• Notice the light in the room, any movement around.
• Try not to ‘try’. Work on eliminating expectations of certain results.
• Put away opinions and judgements of what is happening. If you find yourself clinging to certain opinions, judgements and preferences gently stop. Accept all your feelings and experiences, even the unpleasant ones.
• Do not rush. Try never to rush, or if you have to, experience the rushing.

Practice mindfulness in your everyday life:
• Take short breaks during the day where you can practice being mindful
• When your concentration flits away, concentrate on your breath.
• Be mindful of even small experiences like brushing your teeth.
• Try focusing on mundane experiences fully, such as putting your coat on.
• Mentally note what you are doing, such as ‘I am putting my coat on. I am buttoning it up. It feels soft/rough etc.’ note the food you are eating, the taste, texture, crunch etc. note how different parts of your body are feeling.
• Use mindfulness as often as you can in ordinary situations, like cooking, noting the texture of the food, the smells etc.
• Observe the people around you, without judgement.
• Listen to all the sounds that surround you on a daily basis. When people talk, listen not just to the words, but the sound of their voices. Do not start thinking of a reply until they have stopped talking.
• If you are practicing mindfulness and you bump into someone, do not enter conversation and break it, just greet them and stay in the moment.
• Practice mindfulness when you are working in a stressful situation or to a deadline. Note what it does to your equilibrium.
• If you are standing in a queue, practice your mindfulness exercises.
• Do not try to work out your problems, but instead deal with whatever is in front of you.

ESTABLISHING CONNECTION WITH THE TARGET
Focusing on the heart or compassionate feelings for the ‘other’ is a powerful way of causing brain wave entrainment between two people. When two people touch while focusing loving feelings on their hearts, the coherent heart rhythms of one can entrain the brain of the other.

Before you set your intention, you need to form an empathetic connection with the object of your intention:
• Send your intention to someone with whom you already have a close bond, such as a lover or child, or a dear friend.
• If you are sending an intention to someone you don’t know, exchange an object or photograph.
• If possible, get to know the person, meet them.
• Spend time meditating with them for 30 minutes before you send them healing.
• Ask the person to be open to receiving the intention you are sending.
• If you are trying to heal an animal or plant, establish a connection with it first.

COMPASSION
Encourage a sense of compassion during your healing session:
• Focus on your heart. Send light to it. Observe the light spreading to the rest of your body. Send a loving thought to yourself ‘may I be well and free from suffering’.
• On the outward breath, imagine a white light spreading out from your heart. Think ‘I appreciate the kindness and love of all creatures. May all others be well.’ Think of those you love, then your friends, move on to acquaintances and finally those you dislike. Think ‘may they be well and free from suffering’ at each stage.
• Put yourself in another’s shoes. Imagine what it would be like to live their lives and see the world through their eyes.
• Allow yourself to feel compassion for the suffering of others. Be vulnerable, focus on it, go deep into your heart and meditate on it. Realise how blind you have been to suffering.
• If you are sending healing to someone, first try to put yourself in their situation. Imagine what it is like for them. Have empathy for their suffering. Imagine how you would feel and how you would most want to be healed.
• Direct loving thoughts to the object of the intention. If they are present, hold their hand.

STATING THE INTENTION
Make the intention clear and specific. The more detailed, the better. If you are trying to heal the fourth finger of your left hand, specify that finger and the problem with it. State the entire intention and what you would like to change, to whom, when and where. Use the following checklist:
• Who
• What
• When
• Where
• Why
• How

You could draw a picture of it or create a collage from magazine pictures. Put it somewhere you will see it often.

Keep it positive and in the present tense. Make it a wish that has already been achieved. If you are trying to heal back pain say ‘my back is free of pain and moves freely and fluidly’. Don’t say ‘I will not have side effects’, keep it positive and say ‘I will be free of side effects’.

VISUALIZING THE INTENTION
The best way to send an intention is to visualise the outcome of your desire with all five senses in real time. you can use visualisation for any desired outcome – to change your living situation, job, relationships, health or state of mind. You can also use it to send intentions to someone else.

It isn’t necessary to have a sharp mental image of it, if you can’t mange this. It is enough to think about the intention. Create an impression or feeling. Some people think in images, others in words.

If you are trying to be free of back pain, imagine doing some exercises or sport you enjoy, free of pain. Remember what it is like to be free of pain and full of life. Imagine the internal and external sensations of a limber back. If you are sending the intention to someone else, to heal their back, imagine yourself inside their back and feeling the freedom from pain.

Practicing Visualisation
• Take a mental walk around your bedroom and remember all the details you can, including the feeling of the bedspread.
• Remember a recent physical experience, such a diving into a swimming pool or the feel of a rain storm on your skin.

Visualising the Intention
• Visualise the desired result as already existing, with you in that situation.
• Imagine as much sensory detail as you can [look, smell, feel etc].
• Think about it in a positive, optimistic way. Use positive affirmations. Think of it as happening now, not in the future. Say of your back, for example ‘my back is healthy and well’.
• Imagine healing energy as a white light [or your personal deity] filling you, and observe it healing the diseased part of your body, turning a sick organ into a healthy one. You might imagine hero cells battling diseased ones. Or imagine the diseased cells turning into healthy ones. Imagine your entire body with that part in perfect health. Visualise yourself as healthy, carrying out your daily activities. If you are in pain, imagine the nerve endings in your entire body. See healing energy taken in with every breath, flowing through your muscles and blood cells, though to your nerves where they are soothed and healed.
• Send out the visualisation often, both during the meditation and during the day.

BELIEF
The copious evidence of the placebo effect demonstrates the power of belief. Belief in the power of the intention is vital. Do not allow yourself to think of failure. Dismiss any ‘it won’t happen to me’ thoughts.

MOVE ASIDE
Those who are most successful at healing imagine themselves and the person being healed as one with the universe. Enter a place where the sense of ‘I’ relaxes and you merge with the object of your intention and the web. Frame your intention clearly, state it and let it go. Sense your intention being taken over by the higher powers. Close your internal meditation with a request and let it go. The power does not originate in you, you are its conduit. Think of it as a request you are sending to the universe.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
• Create sacred space
• Power up through meditation
• Move into peak awareness through mindful awareness – be present in the present
• Get onto the same wavelength by focusing on compassion and make a meaningful connection
• State your intention and make it specific
• Mentally rehearse every moment of it with all your senses
• Visualise the intention as established fact
• Choose the right time; choose days when you feel happy as well.
• Move aside – surrender to the power of the universe and let go of the outcome.
